  7.     When reporters questioned Ted Kennedy last Tuesday about
  8. the alleged rape on the family estate in Florida, he said he
  9. was too busy to answer because of his tight legislative
  10. schedule. But the Massachusetts Democrat failed to show up for
  11. an important hearing before the Judiciary Committee, on which
  12. he serves. The subject: violence against women. Committee
  13. members cited the fact that a woman is raped every six minutes
  14. in the U.S.
